Institute for Entrepreneurship and Economic Development (IPER), in cooperation with Association of arts and crafts NIT, starts with the implementation of the project ‘Preservation and development of the traditional Montenegrin craft – gold embroidery’, which is supported by the Regional Program of Local Democracy (ReLOaD), funded by the European Union and implemented by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP). In Montenegro, the ReLOaD program is implemented in partnership with the Capital City of Podgorica and the municipalities of Tivat, Kotor, Niksic and Pljevlja.
The project aims to promote Montenegrin gold embroidery through the development of a marketing plan, improving the economic and social status of women who possess gold embroidery skills in society, as well as to popularize gold embroidery through cooperation with fashion designers.
The methods that will be used to achieve the goals of this project are:
- organization of training with the aim of training women to engage in gold embroidery
- creating at least three new gold-embroidered products for target markets
- development of a detailed marketing plan on the basis of which the public and the market will be acquainted with the products that are decorated with Montenegrin gold embroidery
- preparation of a publication on Montenegrin gold embroidery
